Pinterest is one of our favorite promotional social media because we've had successes over several of our efforts, not just Zazzle.
One characteristic that makes Pinterest superior to Twitter and Facebook is that your pins are easily available for anyone to see at anytime. They are not lost in an ever growing feed, disappearing at the bottom of your page and long forgotten.
Zazzle makes it easy to pin your products and collections with your Associate ID using the link on the these pages. But it is not the perfect pin. Most often, Zazzle pins lack a description except for the product or collection title.
Another characteristic that makes Pinterest different than all other social media is that vertical space is king.

It is possible and time consuming to build your own pins from scratch. This pin was created in about a minute by using a free online service for Zazzlers by Colleen Michele on her site Pretty Wedding Paper.
She calls it Pinnable Images and it is a no brainer to use to creat the perfect pin.
Input your collection url, select 1 to 18 images for your pin, choose your layout, background, other embellishments plus revise the description if you like.
Colleen's Associate ID is used as the placeholder in the link url for the collection, so be sure to replace her ID with your ID.
Click the button and see what your pin will look like. Then click to pin to any of your Pinterest boards. You can also download the image for use in other social media or to manually create your own pin.
One option by Pinnable Images is to chose one or two columns. The pin above has two columns and it is taller than the average pin. Here is the same collection but with a one column pin that is vertically twice as tall. That is what we call the perfect pin (Fuzzy due to enlarging on this web site).

Pinnable Images does take a little longer that simply pinning from within Zazzle. But remember, your pins will be promoting "forever". So what is an extra minute or two when it results in a more perfect pin that will promoting for a long time?
FINAL NOTES: Being a naturally curious fellow, I discovered you can also input a product url into the Pinnable Images system. The advantage is that you get an attractive background and real descriptive copy.

Also, we've created a Zazzle How2 Pinterest site. We would be grateful if you would follow it: https://www.pinterest.com/zazzlehow2/
